Are teachers are the most powerful creatures under
the sun? Answer would be YES... because they can change anything... Look at
this…
On parent- teacher meeting day, as soon as the
class teacher says “we are concerned about your child’s academic performance.
He/ she must work hard …. Especially in maths….” , that perfect family -
confident dad, stylish super mom and enthusiastic teenager turns into desperate
father, sobbing mother and grumbling child within no time.
Parent- Oh… He/she
is the sole purpose of my life. I sacrifice everything for children… I work
from early morning till late-night… I did this… I did that…. I… I… I…
Teenage Child - They irritate me for every single
thing … I agree I haven’t done well in this test but my last exam scores were
awesome… Yes I am attached to gadgets… But I too need a social life…. And there
are these teenage hormones which make me daydream… So it is not my fault after
all…
Is it the wakeup call before our so called solid
families collapse? Can we as parents stop using the word ‘sacrifice’ for the
adjustments we make for self? Can we accept the fact that children are part of
our life but not the sole purpose? Have you ever given a thought before
providing the luxurious facilities to the child? Oh dear emotional mothers… he has come out of
your womb long ago, can you consider your child as a separate individual.
O my dearest children, do you know that there is
cut throat competition awaiting you out there? Do you know that no one cares
your excuses for bad academic performance? Do you know that till you get into a
right college you are recognised by your marks card not by your passion and all
that imported stuff…?
