" TEACHER ''

According to my husband one horrible thing living with a teacher[ that is me ] is, she always wants to teach the world about right and wrong! A teacher sees whole world as a bunch of unruly kids! Though at home my instructions are followed with least opposition, I tasted miserable defeat recently.

Few months back myself and 7 other teachers accompanied a group of 150 students aged 13-14 to an excursion to Chennai and Pondichery. It was 3 day trip. On the second day after finishing sight seeing we reached the hotel at 8 PM . We all enjoyed the DJ Show followed by the dinner. Then all the students were ready to go to their shared rooms . As they are chirpy, exited teenagers who wanted to utilise the freedom , I told them to lock themselves in the room and sleep and not to roam around in the corridors .

At 11 pm myself along with another teacher went around to make sure all are safe and sleeping. In the second floor a group of 3 girls and 2 boys caught my attention. The girls in their body revealing clothes made me angry as it was an inappropriate dress in public place according to our Indian standards! I called them and started giving lecture on importance of decent clothing, the consequences, the safety of girls etc.Next on seeing those 2 boys I lost my cool and shouted on them for entering the girls rooms without reason. I also told them on returning to school they have to meet Principal for their indiscipline. 

Suddenly I had to stop my lecture when one of the girl interrupted " But Maam, who are you?"
Ah.... I woke up from my ideal world. Yes they are not from our school!! I was shouting at strangers!!
Whole group gave me a look [ shut up and mind your business]

I went back to my room cursing the

" TEACHER '' within me who wants to set the things right everywhere .
